Many of our SecTAX and Trust Accounts clients use a data feed from Interactive DataSM. This provides securities information such as CGT status, name changes, dividends declared and prices.
The software uses this information to calculate the dividends due for a client or to show a valuation on an investment schedule.
For several years MYOB wanted to add information about "complex capital events" to the existing data supplied. Complex capital events are events such as takeovers, demergers and other reorganisations where there is a transfer of cost to another security. But adding complex capital events proved more difficult than expected. Then in April 2008 MYOB merged with CCH.
CCH had a CGT product of its own, called CGT and Dividend Scheduling, or Gains for short. This product had its own data feed and included complex capital events provided by Interactive Data. So it didn't take long before CCH was extracting the data on complex capital events from the CCH data feed to make it available to SecTAX and Trust Accounts users.
