Everybody seems to have survived tax season and normality (of sorts!) now returns.
As always, everyone in the profession has the twin forces of dealing with compliance, whilst also having enough time to help clients to run their businesses, and provide real added value.
On the compliance front, everyone will be aware that there is plenty of increased regulation afoot.
On corporate tax, April 2011 will see the introduction of mandatory filing of Corporation Tax returns and the accompanying accounts in iXBRL format. Most practices will want to ensure that they are ready for iXBRL long before April 2011 and CCH will ensure you are fully prepared. Our accounts production software and corporate tax packages will all be capable of providing iXBRL output long before the required date in 2011. You can find out more here

Sometimes, for an accountant it may feel as if all of your time is spent simply complying with regulation and very little time is then available to help your clients run and grow their businesses.
One of our jobs is to free up your time, by automating more and more of your compliance work. To this end we are working on some very exciting developments which will hopefully help you reduce the time you actually have to spend "bashing in the numbers".
I won't say too much more for now, as we are working with a number of our clients to get this right before we shout from the rooftops, but more will come on this later in the year!
